So Billy Childish finally gets a major solo show at a public arts institution? In a way it's weird that it's taken so long, given that he's so completely brilliant. But then in a way it's hardly surprising when you take into account his constant rejection of London's contemporary art scene.
Well the truce has been announced, and nice work by the ICA for doing so. This should be a belting show - one of the highlights of the year in fact. There's poetry, polemic, and of course all manner of paintings by the prolific artist, writer, filmmaker, musician Childish.
Locality, tradition, integrity, vision: Childish is anything but.
