How the Brain Jonestown Massacre are still playing show is a mystery, but the bigger conundrum is how lead singer Anton Newcombe is still actually alive!
Named after the equally volatile Rolling Stone’s guitarist, The Brian Jonestown Massacre has already gone through 40 members and has spawned bands as famous as The Black Rebel Motorcycle club on their way to infamy. Made famous by the movie Dig, Anton is the driving force of this band and his steadfast refusal to compromise even one little bit has created a band that could have been the most influential rock-act of the late nineties- if they were not completely unsignable!
Going to a Brian Jonestown Massacre show is the live music equivalent of buying a Kinder Egg- you literally never know what can happen. From heated arguments on stage, to fist fights with members of the audience, Anton is a clinical example of a ‘nutter’. It might sound a little clichéd, but expect the unexpected.
