Village Underground, 54 Holywell Lane, Hoxton and Shoreditch, EC2A 3PQ

How Much: Free!

Now in its fourth year, the Catlin Art Prize was launched to reward and encourage the next generation of contemporary artists. Unlike bigger awards like, say, the Turner Prize, the Catlin champions genuinely unknown artists, generally those who have just graduated from art school.

The whole thing is organised by curator, gallerist and writer Justin Hammond, so the shortlisted artists are likely to reflect his personal taste. We like the look of Alex Virji's semi-figurative portraits and Victoria Matkin's ethereal constructions.

Until 23.05.10.
