St Albans has to be one of the most boring cities in England. Yeah, it nice to look at and it's full of Roman ruins and what not, but it's got one decent pub called the Beehive and that's all.
So it's probably no surprise that Friendly Fires sound like the best party you've ever been to. In a town where the night-life revolves around wine bars and dancing to Sash, everybody is crying out for a bit of no wave disco, and these guys are almost up there with The Rapture when it comes to delivering it.
