An extraordinary, imaginative staging of the Hansel and Gretel story, this version by Catherine Wheel Productions is a fully interactive, promenade performance. Kids (and their adult minders) will be expected to walk around the forest and the gingerbread house, in a specially adapted Barbican.
Hansel and Gretel is a perfect fairytale for kids, having that scary edge which makes it all the more exciting. The fact that the audience for this show will have to walk around the edges of the action makes it that much more involving and magical. However it also means that this is not your average panto. Kids of younger than eight will probably be confused or scared, but adults and their progeny will both find this a memorable fairytale.
