The incredibly expressive Lauryn Redding and the captivating Benedict Martin invite a young audience to laugh at Britain's crazy history. Having enjoyed their contagious songs and funny skits with one of the most diverse audiences I've come across in the West End, I can tell you this is a show well worth making time for.

Redding and Martin make adults feel like children again and make children feel like they've made new friends. They get them singing, dancing and competing against each other as they guide us through centuries of nutters. We begin with the gross Romans and the violent Vikings as Max cleverly explains the waves of immigrants that have come here and how they came to stay. One of the most memorable songs comes via Henry VIII and his many wives before Guy Fawkes makes an appearance on a hilarious episode of 'Who Wants to Blow Up Parliament?' and Alan Sugar soon drops by to find an apprentice that can lead us to wartime glory. Here, Redding and Martin show great tact in conveying the tragedy of WWI. But be warned, they include a heavy dose of dark history including an interactive explanation of the Tyburn Jib (which the kids loved) and tales of the mentally ill Baby Farmer that I found a little unnecessary but fascinating all the same. An excellent show by two awe-inspiring performers.
