One of the most conceptual punk acts to come over the horizon since Sonic Youth first heaved into view during the summer of '83, Japanther are definitely not afraid to think outside the bubble when it comes to making experimental post punk.

Rooted in the skatepunk scene of the early to mid nineties, Japanther revolves around the duo of Matt Reilly who busies himself by twanging a three string bass and Ian Vaneck who spends his stage time hitting a bank of electronic gizmos and savaging a drum kit, while both sing into mic's fashioned from remodelled telephone handsets.

Whilst to many this could seem like an updating of the late seventies No Wave scene, Japanther takes this sound and run with it - straight into the realms of utter insanity.
