Carley Stenson, the actress who currently plays supporting character Margot in Legally Blonde, will be stepping into the lead role as-of July 11th; taking over the part of pink and fluffy protagonist Elle Woods.
Stenson is best known for her 10yr run in popular TV show Hollyoaks.
Based on the winning Hollywood comedy with a fresh book by Heather Hach and some $13million expended on costumes, set changes and pop tunes, the show was a critical flop in New York - and a huge smash with audiences.
Legally Blonde is the story of Elle, a girl ditched for someone brainier by her ambitious boyfriend, who pursues him to Harvard and proves that being blonde and pretty doesn't mean you can't use your brain. It's corny, juvenile and a hell of a lot of fun - and the musical version looks set to be one of 2010's biggest shows.
