For the last time ever, Victor Wynd and the Last Tuesday Society present Loss, their anti-Valentine night of burlesque, dancing and mourning. Subtitled An Evening of Exquisite Misery, this event will boast nearly as many performers as punters, with everyone encouraged to dress up and take part. The venue is a church and church hall in Powys Square, near Notting Hill Gate.
Attractions on the night include live music from Russian band Mazaika and The Guillotines, cabaret from Dickie Beau and Ophelia Bitz, and interactive performance artists YouMeBumBum Train whose exhibit is a House of Love. There'll be dozens of other mournful performers, body painting, a tent given over to nothing more than onion chopping and crying, and as usual prizes will be given for Best Fancy Dress, Saddest Fur, Tastiest Bottom and Grandest Grandmother.
A delightfully dark alternative celebration this Friday 13th.
