From the voluminous works of Lope DeVega, often referred to as the Spanish Bard, this is essentially love and lust in a mental asylum.
Floriano is fleeing a warrant for his arrest and Erifila has just about escaped a forced marriage. They meet, she's in her undies, they fall in love, they get carted off to a nut house.
The antics of a mental institution in 16th century Spain are utterly farcical and high-spirited. Expect all the women to love Floriano and all the men to lust after Erifila.
