Rose Theatre, 24-26 Kingston High Street, Kingston, KT1 1HL
Rose Artistic Director Peter Hall tries his hand at a bit of August Strindberg in this brand new in-house production of the classic study of class, and power.
Strindberg is among Sweden's most influential playwrights, both in his use of naturalistic settings and dialogue, and in his pointed, vitriolic dissection of class.
Miss Julie concerns an upper class girl who flirts with the help and comes to a sticky end. It depends on brilliant central performances to bring the sexual chemistry between the unlikely lovers to life.
