Mount Kimbie

Tuesday, 21 September

XOYO, 32-37 Cowper Street, Hoxton and Shoreditch, EC2A 4AW

Live Music: , Electronica

How Much: £7.00 (Advance Tickets)
Peckham-based duo Mount Kimbiehave already caused a stir with their atmospheric releases, a percussive and experimental take on dubstep. Dominic Maker and Kai Campos first two EPs caused a commotion when released last year, undergoing reworks from the likes of Faulty dl, SCB (Scuba’s darker techno alias) and their sometime collaborator James Blake.

From dubstep to post rock, traces of influence are visible, but the band’s sound is very much their own. Sceneless and untethered from etiquette and genre codes, they float through dubstep and hip-hop, jazz, techno and ambient, post-rock, UK garage and film scores to startling effect.
