National Theatre, Olivier, South Bank, Southbank, SE1 9PX

Theatre: , Melodrama, Comedy

How Much: £42.50 (Highest Price) , £10.00 (Lowest Price)
Another festive triumph for the National Theatre to follow up the majesty of His Dark Materials and War Horse: they really are leading the way in terms of children's theatre that appeals to, nay, scares and delights the bejesus out of accompanying adults.

This time it's a collaboration between national treasure Terry Pratchett and hot playwright Mark Ravenhill, set in 19th century Polynesia and following a pair of children stranded by a tidal wave who set up an entirely new society.

So, it should be very funny, and have plenty of excitement and stunning effects. It's worth noting that the inclinations of both men, and the pre-publicity, indicate a religious or spiritual angle: if you don't want your children to actively question the existence of God at this time of the year, this might not be the best show.

Suitable for ages 10+
