British Library, 96 Euston Road, Kings Cross, NW1 2DB
Despite their slightly unprepossessing gallery space, exhibitions at the British Library are often utterly brilliant - in part due to the institution's unparalleled collection of amazing stuff.
This winter's show looks like a prime example: an exhibition of illuminated manuscripts from between the 9th and 16th centuries.
Highlights include Henry VIII's personal Psalter and two of the three remaining copies of Thomas Hoccleve's Regement of Princes - a guide to being an ideal courtier by the crazy bureaucrat/writer/visionary who is one of the finest and most underrated writers of the era.
Until 13.03.11.
