?Saxa loquuntur!? Freud exclaims in The Aetiology of Hysteria of 1896. The stones talk, or continue to talk. You see it all the time, in the city: every building a trace of its former purpose, one-time occupants, the now-defunct ideologies that led to its construction.
This winter, Tinype presents Shadow Lines, an exhibition of work by three contemporary artists that explores the continuation of the past into the present in the form of a myriad of nearly erased marks andhalf-discernible traces.
