Leeman-Keatley Syndrome is a severe mental condition that could cause an otherwise loving mother to harm her own child. In this verbatim play by Dennis Kelly, it has led to the deaths of two children whose mother has been released from prison after being diagnosed with the condition.

But is making a play from the killings as tragic as the deaths of those children? Is this an example of an artist gaining personally from someone else's heartache? Or are is this just another story imposed on the audience like the judgements imposed on a young mother with a mental condition?
