Probably the most experimental act to emerge from the first wave of punk, The Raincoats were not only one of the first all-girl punk bands, they were also one of the more obtuse - processing minimalistic guitar rock through wiry guitar and shrill violin howl.
Playing the Scala as part of ATP's Don't Look Back series, the band will be performing their self titled début in it's entirety tonight. Released in 1979, it's a record that soars through 11 tracks of avant-garde folk punk, and features one of the weirder takes on The Kinks' classic 'Lola'.
