A restoration comedy about Captain Plume and his misadventures recruiting men for the King's army on the promise of money, glory and adventure. As well as recruits, he's got his eye on Sylvia who doesn't really need him now that she's come into her fortune and Melinda is busy playing games with the affections of Captain Brazen and Mr Worthy. Oh what a card she is!
