What a cool idea. Apparently in one of the toilets at The Sunday Painter down in Peckham is a small pile of cigarette ash that has remained in exactly the same spot, unmoved, undisturbed, for over two years.
Now, in homage to this strange little piece of detritus/ discarded urban outcrop, eight artists have been invited to create work that responds to it in some way.
An enterprising slice of site-sensitivity, refreshingly un-grandiose.
