Nicholas Wright's Travelling Light follows Metl Mendl, a young Russian with money and inspiration enough to leave his village and seek a new life in England.
We join him 40 years later, now a famed movie director as he reflects on the first films and the circumstances that pushed him to leave home. The process also forces him to confront the cost of his immense success.
