Nina Raine's Tribes promises to be a powerful look at family dynamics and what it means to really listen to one another.
Billy belongs to a fiercely intelligent and proudly unconventional family. They exist in their own tiny empire, with their own private language, in-jokes and rules. For them, rudeness is nothing, you can be as possessive as you like, as critical as you like and arguments are an expression of love.
But Billy is deaf and one of the few people who takes the time to listen. His new found friend Sylvia helps him realise he finally wants to be heard but can he get a word in edgeways?
