In 2008 Michael Grandage, Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse, announced a 'West End' project, whose stated aim is to introduce 'serious' drama to Theatreland to counter the songbook musicals and celebrity-stocked standards. To help get the audiences in, they've got a battery of celebrity actors taking the stage.

Twelfth Night is the second part of this laudable project. Derek Jacobi takes the part of Malvolio what many consider to be Shakespeare's best comedy. Far from being serious, the play is deeply silly, but the language, wit and romance will grip audiences and, presumably, show them how wonderful Shakespeare is.

A seriously enticing prospect featuring a British stage legend in one of the bard's best roles, and an intellectual antidote to the panto season.
