History runs right through the George and Dragon; the building dates back to 1529 and has been a pub since 1667, with the decor carefully chosen to reflect the cultural significance of the hostelry.
Drinking here, therefore, must be the most enjoyable history lesson you could possibly hope for. Following a complete refurb thanks to English Heritage, the pub is a comfortable den of nooks and crannies, with a cosy ambience.
For contrast, the back room which used to host live bands is now a light and airy space with art nouveau statues and the feel of a German bierkeller. All round, probably one of the best pubs in west London.
