The Exhibit is a hidden gem in every sense - it's tucked away in Balham but is right next to the tube so you don't have to trek around the area to find it and if you're already a local, lucky you. Its restaurant has had some great reviews and the food is very reasonably priced, no poncey stuff, more gastro pub tucker.

The real incentive for heading over here is the Tuesday night 'dinner and a movie special'. For £15.95 you get dinner pre or post movie and the film included - screened in a cosy 24 seat theatre room upstairs. Check out their website for listings. It also has a cocktail lounge with a landscaped balcony which seats 40 and is heated in winter months.

From Thursday to Sunday DJs spin soulful jazz in the lounge and on Sundays and Mondays there is a stand-up comedy night for only a fiver. Well worth a visit.
