Studio 1.1 is an East London gallery specialising in contemporary, often highly conceptual works by a plethora of artists. The venue is run by a small collective of artists - for this reason shows are generally open to the public only at weekends.
Probably the best way to illustrate the nature of the place is to take a quote of their own construction: "If true originality consists of trying to be like everyone else and failing (cf Jean Renoir) and that which is truly original is of necessity incomprehensible (cf T.S. Eliot) - we trust that if we fail, we fail comprehensibly."
