Located a stone's throw away from the busy Gray's Inn Road, The Apple Tree is certainly a boozer with character. Paintings and sculptures by local artists adorn the interiors, giving it a rather artsy vibe. And despite its old and weather-beaten look, it still pulls a cool crowd of media types coming from the nearby offices in Farringdon and Clerkenwell. There's no better place to find out what's in tomorrow's paper.

Like any self-respecting pub, it's got a decent food menu, jukebox, patio and a low-stake poker night. Nice.
