Deservedly building a reputation as one of Brixton's finest, Mango Landing is a restaurant cum bar whose awesome live music and eclectic style have seen it become a livewire nightspot.

In the week, things are pretty chilled apart from the odd tango lesson and you can get a very decent Caribbean fusion meal here, although the service is erratic in a charming way. Basically the landlady is completely dotty and this may be why she throws such good parties.

At weekends, or late in the week, expect live reggae, salsa, fifties jive, or anything downtempo and sexy to match the laid back ambiance, followed by a step up when the DJ takes over. They never play house or any kind of dance in here which is something to worship them for, and the DJs tend to stick with slow numbers but you'll get the odd excursion into conscious hip hop and amusing electro.

An utterly brilliant and totally authentic Brixton night out with food, drink, a warm welcome and every chance you won't want to leave.
