Formerly occupied by a nomadic soundsystem that has since moved on to new pastures, the Redstar was out of action for a while. Now, though, it has reopened with a new green paint-job (oddly) and a packed schedule. With some genuinely good promoters signing up for monthly nights and one-offs, the nightlife meter is showing something like a reading again in the region of Camberwell green.

Although someone has gently tarted up the interior, the place retains its informal, ex-boozer feel, with the ground floor holding about 400 and an upstairs room, usually used separately, around 200. Watch out for the pint curfew, by the way: annoyingly it's one of those bottles-only after midnight places.
