Colossal restaurant and bar in the heart of Camden themed around the first heroic conqueror in history, Gilgamesh of the Babylonians.
The place is decorated in extravagant style with reproductions of ancient murals, marble pillars and tomb decorations from the British Museum. It even has a retractable roof for the all important open-air dining experience during the summer months.
However, the food is the main attraction here. The kitchens are fully visible to the on looking diners and are helmed by super-chef Ian Pengelley on a voyage of pan Asian fusion cookery.
Most weekends, you will find the placed stocked with slightly bemused drinkers sucking back excellent cocktails and boogying to DJs in a slightly over the top setting. Gilgamesh is an incredibly ambitious venue, huge, stylish and comfortable, and ever so slightly surreal.
