A standard no-fuss local. It's a teeny bit awkward to find but hence well out of the way of the Camden market going multitudes, and refreshingly different to your everyday gastropub crammed with pram pushers.
Naturally it has all the premium lagers, besides real ales and a new guest beer every month. It's Jim who looks after the beer- claiming it's the best in Camden Town- and Marie knocks up real pub grub at lunchtime. The clientele are mainly locals who are most likely to be busy watching the match, if you don't fancy joining them then there's also a pool table, darts or a sunny beer garden overlooking the canal.
Completely different to the bar upstairs is the downstairs Cellar bar. Its eclectic sounds include jazz, latin and alternative music, with Bugbear and Turning Worm both putting on regular nights.
