Over the years this sanguine but bedraggled haunt has played host to countless other bands on their way to failure, mediocrity and superstardom.

Three or four bands a night and if you're planning to have a quiet chat you'd be better off heading round the corner to the Spread Eagle – music is the king at the Dublin Castle.
