Officially the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, the Imperial's main campus is situated in South Kensington on Exhibition Road. Formerly a constituent college of the University of London, the Imperial became independent on the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2007.

In 2006, the college was ranked fourth in the world by THES-QS for biomedicine, engineering and computer science. The college hosts a wide range of public lectures on their main areas of study, however, over the years have branched out into humanities and business.
