The Science Museum pretty much does what it says on the tin. Thankfully it does so much of the stuff that even when the newly revamped Launchpad on the 3rd floor is occupied by squealingly excited schoolchildren smashing the interactive gadgets, there’s always a quiet display in a deserted corner containing some fascinating item not originally produced by IKEA.

The top two floors, given over to Medical science, tend to be less popular but are equally worth exploring. After all where else can you ogle a mummified skull bearing the fallout of pre-modern brain surgery, a 6-inch Victorian brass and iron enema syringe and then watch the video of the original “Macgyver” squirrel?

Invariably offering something for every family member this museum is also the ideal place to bring your Buddhist friends in order to point out what’s missing from their lives.

I visited the Science Museum for the first time a few weeks ago and really couldn't believe I'd waited so long to check it out! I really enjoyed the Dan Dare and the Birth of Hi-Tech Britain and Future Foods exhibits - it's not every day you get to design yourself a blue tomato!

My favourite part of the museum, however, was the medical display on the top two floors. It was quite crowded in the museum and I found the medical area quite light on the crowds and heavy on incredibly interesting things to see and read. The life-sized models of medical procedures were particularly exciting. Definitely worth checking out!

I didn't get anywhere near to seeing everything so I'm really looking forward to going back to the Science Museum soon.

Science isn't normally everybody's cup of tea, and certainly not mind, but there's no way of getting around the fact that the London Science Museum is simply five floors of fun!

My favourite area, Psychology: Mind Your Head is fascintating as well as fun and I must admit to getting a bit over excited by some of Launchpad's interactive exhibits.
