I got hopelessly lost in the Barbican Centre trying to find the Pit Theatre - and then trapped in a queue waiting for the elevator before realising that there was set of stairs around the corner. However any grumbles were immediately appeased the moment I sat down in what was easily the most comfortable theatre seat I've ever had the pleasure to seat myself in.
I was attending a film screening as part of the International Buddhist Film Festival and found the screen size a little smaller than would have benefited the room but the stage below the screen offered a perfect platform for the musicians that provided a live soundtrack throughout the film - certainly not a setup easily created in most contemporary theatres or cinemas.
