Chequers Bar has been around since 1869 and has established itself as an inner city escape offering quality, value and a quiet energy.

Refurbished in November 2009, the owners have created an intimate experience with a personal touch (the man behind the bar is the owner).

Food and drinks are reasonably priced (as low as £3.20 for a pint and £6 for a 12inch stone baked pizza) and there are regular comedy and magic nights on alternate Thursdays.
