The Guildhall Art Gallery may not always be the first exhibition space to spring to mind when debating a day saturated in culture and art. All too often it is overlooked for larger venues such as The National Gallery or the Tate Modern and it is definitely time this stopped.
The venue, which holds a collection of over 4,000 works of art ranging from 18th Century classics to contemporary pieces, only ever displays 250 works of art at any one time, meaning that a repeat visits does not necessarily mean repeat exhibitions.
Steeped in all things London, the gallery has only collected art work concentrated on London subjects since the Second World War. This means that not only is art at the top of the agenda at this venue but also the history of our beautiful capital.
