The Adelphi Theatre is one of Andrew Lloyd Weber's flagship venues, a huge theatre on The Strand at the heart of theatreland, with a long history of hosting lavish musical productions. This is one of the best theatres in London.
Built in 1806, the Adelphi has a capacity of more then 1,500 on three levels. Each floor is equipped with a bar and a recent refurbishment has left the place very comfortable even by modern standards. Views of the stage are generally excellent although the back of the stalls is overhung by the circle which is gloomy and prevents you seeing the full height of the stage.
A night at the Adelphi promises comfort, big budget productions, and a proper sense of occasion.
