If sitting on a packed tube or bus makes you wonder about how commuters struggled along to work in the past, then the Transport Museum is the place for you.
The exhibitions, including refurbished buses and underground trains from down the years, are actually quite enlightening, and there’s every possibility you’ll leave with a feeling of extreme pride for the oldest and one of the most elaborate public transport schemes in the world.
There’s an excellent gift shop for tacky tube souvenirs ('Mind The Gap' pants, anyone?). Mind, you'll need a sense of humour to endure the ensuing 12 minute wait for a train to take you home. Maybe it is time to buy a bicycle after all.
