You could be forgiven for thinking you had been transported back to a time of horse drawn carriages, silk top hats and scented love letters when you set foot in Treadwells. A listed building, the gallery boasts original archways decorated with dancing fawns, hardwood floors strewn with mismatched Persian rugs and soft yellow lighting; all this and more combine to lend it a character many of its peers, however modern, would be jealous of.

Lest it be unclear that Treadwells is not your average art gallery, or indeed, bookshop, it also plays host to psychic readings and alternative therapy treatments.
