The Black Sheep in Crystal Palace is one of a chain of three bars south of the river.  It manages to have all the warmth and charm of a pub without being grotty or overly swanky and shiny like some bars can be. It's probably down to the wood, leather and suede thing they've got going on. 

Food and drink is simple and good value: cheesy chips, nachos and cocktails under a fiver all sounds good to us.

There is also a really good comedy night here called Gipsy Hill Comedy which is held every other Friday and books some really good stand-ups.
