Described by some as the best single-screen cinema in London, The Phoenix is run by a charitable trust chaired and staffed with Finchley locals, and also boasts the honour of being the longest continuously open cinema in England, putting on pictures since 1910.
All of this is very nice of course, but more importantly the beautiful Art Deco and Edwardian features are married to state of the art facilities, comfortable seats, and a lively mix of blockbusters, independent gems and the odd classic.
The Phoenix also puts on special events such as open days, exhibitions, lectures and live screenings arranged with theatres. This wonderful cinema is in every sense a vital part of the artsy North London scene.
