Recently renovated but sticking with a distinctly old-fashioned flavour, there is simply no better place to sup gin and party like its 1899. Go on the right night, and there are quizzes and DJs plying their trade, plus the odd appearance of a live band, or even a string quartet.

A truly wonderful pub, that would hold its own in any location, but here manages to look like a palace.
