A Fitzrovian bar that doubles up as a live music venue on most nights, The Social looks a bit too much like a wine bar to attract trendy young indie and punk bands, but attract them they do.

This may be something to do with the fact that the bar, and its sisters in Bristol and Nottingham, are the result of a drunken idea from the guys who run Heavenly Records, which certainly beats our inebriated ideas of forming an electro-skiffle band to take over the charts.

But I digress…If you want great bands, tasty cocktails and a refreshingly unpretentious vibe in the West End, look no further than the Social. When the music is good this place takes some beating.
