Founded in 1918, the Budokwai is the oldest Japanese martial arts club in Europe, and played a leading role in the establishment of the British Judo Association and the International Judo Federation. Karate has long been central to the the Budokwai's activities too, with plenty of Olympic and other national squad members from both disciplines passing through the club's doors.
Jiu-jitsu and aikido are additional focuses, with kickboxing and yoga classes also available. Annual martial arts memberships start at £65, with visitors admitted too. Student memberships are available.
