London’s oldest purpose-built concert hall, Blackheath Halls boasts one of those locations that is both close (12 mins on the train from central London), and rural enough to be away from the crowds.
The rich history has attracted the like of Sir Edward Elgar and Sir Simon Rattle in the past, and as well as regular concerts, theatrical events and the odd pop or rock gig, they hold workshops in everything from rap to maypole dancing.
A truly original and intriguing venue, a performance here is one that will live on in the memory for many a year.
