A record-making museum, The Royal Artillery Museum has been wowing the crowds since the 4th of May 1820.

Always promising lots of explosions and delivering with extra umph, the main crowd it draws in are families desperate for something to entertain their kids and big kids who just like guns, war and all things that go BANG!

Only having moved to its new premises at the Royal Arsenal in 2001, the permanent exhibitions are well constructed and interesting even for the repeat visitor.

The collection we see today was founded in 1778 at the Royal Arsenal by Captain (later Lieutenant General Sir) William Congreve. The exhibition consists of human stories of courage and endeavour and scientific discoveries made through warfare.
