This is the new venue for the exceptional community theatre founded in 2000 by Mehmet Ergen.
The Arcola has stuck to a strict remit - to produce theatre with relevance and resonance for the local community in Dalston. This means a lot of new writing as well as plays conceived in industrial or multicultural settings. When they do roll out a classic, it usually has a modern, fashionable slant.
