One of London's most surprisingly beautiful buildings, Clapton Round Chapel was first constructed in 1810 for Hackney's then blossoming non-conformist community.
Known for it's unusual circular configuration with not knave or alter, the church fell derelict in the early '90s with the decline of the Christian congregation, however its striking architectural design saved it from the wrecking ball, and with it's Grade II* listing, it is now considered one of the most important church buildings in England.
Revived and refurbished by a £1 Million trust, the Round Chapel is now the jewel in the crown of Lower Clapton's cultural life, serving as both a community centre and impressive performance space.
