A once derelict shop on Broadway Market is the perfect place for somewhere like Fabrications. It's a small independent studio, shop and gallery dedicated to contemporary design and textiles and run by Goldsmiths graduate Barley Massey.
Massey has a particular interest in Eco-design and the use of recycled materials. Consequently, Fabrications is like an Aladdin's Cave of enchantingly peculiar bits and bobs - cushions, pots, books, bowls, and a whole host of quirkily designed thingies.
As well as all this, the space also functions as a gallery that shows a broad variety of works in an eclectic programme of exhibitions: a lovely little place to spend the time between breakfast at Climpson's and a pint at The Dove.
