Brown Sugar is a friendly, trendy bar with a Hoxton feel, in limbo between Holborn and Oxford Street. Its a slightly odd location but the place is a godsend if you're on your way to The End or a night up West and don't fancy the crush of Soho.

BS has funky furniture, including a luxurious chaise-longue and weird psychedelic pictures that are actually lights, a tasty Thai menu and an expensive but delicious range of designer beer sold through the ubiquitous sculpted chrome taps.

There is always a good DJ at the weekend and we can well imagine intending to go on somewhere else but not managing it. The only night we would make a diary date to attend is their Better Days vinyl throwdown (see listings) but this is a great ace in the hole when drinking in town.
